Angered by his two children fighting for the television remote control, a man threw scissors at them killing his 16-year-old son on Saturday night in Karnataka’s Chitradurga district.
The incident took place in Molakalmuru town, 256 km away from Bengaluru. The deceased has been identified as Chandrashekar, the son of Lakshmi and Lakshmana Babu.
The incident took place around 8 pm on Saturday night when Chandrashekar and his younger brother Pavan Kumar, 14, were fighting over the remote control. Babu, who had suffered a paralysis stroke, repeatedly asked them to stop fighting.
But when they did not stop, Babu took a scissor which was on a table next to him and threw it at them. It struck the neck of Chandrashekar who started bleeding profusely.
Lakshmi took her son to a local hospital and then shifted him to a hospital in Ballari. But the doctors declared Chandrashekar dead.
The Molakalmuru police have booked a murder case against Babu.
