Minutes before takeoff from Bengaluru, man on Air India flight claims he’s a ‘terrorist’; arrested

They found that the man who studies at a private college in Bengaluru was mentally unwell after he did not fare well in studies. He was later released on bail, the police said.

According to the police, Singh boarded the flight on February 17 after the security check, but wanted to get out minutes before the departure. “When the crew members tried to pacify him, Adarsh shouted at them and claimed that he worked for a ‘terrorist organisation’. The crew members alerted the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) that took him out of the flight and frisked him and the baggage,” said an officer.

The CISF officials found that there was nothing suspicious and handed him over to the Kempegowda airport police.

Based on the complaint of Air India staff, a case has been registered at Kempegowda airport police station against Adarsh under Indian Penal Code section 505 (statements conducting public mischief).

A police officer said, “Adarsh had a relationship issue with his girlfriend. His family members told the police that Adarsh was having a mental health issue. We have sought medical reports from his family.”
