VS Hospital doctor kills self

A resident doctor at the V S Hospital allegedly committed suicide by jumping on railway tracks at Sola in Ahmedabad on Wednesday morning. The doctor,a first-year MD student,was reportedly under stress over his studies. The victim has been identified as Sahil Umesh Buch (24). He was a native of Ahmedabad and his family lives in Jawahar Nagar area of Vasna.

The incident happened between 8:30 to 9:00am,police said. Sahil had called up his parents and told him he was coming home for a day to stay with them. However,he went to the railway tracks near Sola reportedly to commit suicide. According to Sola police,Sahil’s father,Umesh,said his son was under severe stress for the last few months.

Sola Inspector G S Raol said,“No other reason could be ascertained behind Sahil’s extreme step. However,we are taking statements from his parents and hostel friends to know if he was upset about any other issue”. Sahil’s body has been sent for the post-mortem. Police have registered a case of accidental death.
