Visit assigned districts by Nov 30, submit reports after review meetings: CM to ministers

Vaghani said that earlier, ministers were appointed as Prabhari (in charge) of various districts in the state. And the CM has asked them to conduct tours of those districts by November 30.

CHIEF MINISTER Bhupendra Patel has issued instructions to all ministers in his Cabinet to visit the districts under their charge by November 30 and convene review meetings on important projects and condition of roads. The CM has also directed them to submit reports afterwards, said senior minister and spokesperson of the state government Jitu Vaghani on Wednesday.

Vaghani was addressing mediapersons following the weekly meeting of the cabinet of ministers.

According to Vaghani, the CM has instructed all the ministers to compulsorily reserve Monday and Tuesday every week to listen to  representations of people and their representatives while staying in their respective offices. In case there are some unavoidable circumstances, this can be skipped while bringing it to the CM’s notice. According to Vaghani, the CM has also instructed the ministers to avoid scheduling meetings on those days.

Vaghani added that the CM has instructed the ministers to review the progress of special projects in the districts under them while also taking follow-ups for timely completion.

Additionally, the CM has also asked them to hold meetings with concerned officials of districts to review the situation of roads in districts by November 30 and then submit a report to the CM.

Quoting Vaghani, an official release stated, “He (the CM) has given instructions to ensure that there is no compromise in quality of roads through necessary supervision and to take strict action against concerned persons if poor quality is discovered anywhere.”

Vaghani said the CM has also given orders to officials to actively work to ensure that Gujarat could stay in line with national and global standards on development parameters such as infant mortality rate (IMR) and maternal mortality rate (MMR).
