Led by Shehra MLA Jetha Bharwad and Godhra MP Prabhatsinh Chauhan,a large group of people gheraoed the Godhra SPs office on Saturday,demanding probe into what they called the custodial death of Sattan Padi (42),a resident of Saharia village in Shehra taluka,who was found hanging in a police station cell on Friday night. While police stated that Padi committed suicide by hanging himself with his trouser,villagers said that he was killed by the police while in custody. An accidental death case has been registered and the body has been sent for post mortem in Vadodaras civil hospital. RBI tells co-op banks not to donate to kins trusts The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has restrained urban co-operative banks from giving donations to trusts and institutions,where directors,and/or their relatives hold position or are interested even within permissible limit. The prohibition comes in force with immediate effect,says an official release issued on Friday. It has been brought to our notice that some of the urban co-operative banks have made contributions as donations to trusts for charitable or benevolent objective or for any exhibition in which the directors or relatives are interested, said the release,while justifying the ban.
