Vadodara: Corporator’s sister dies by suicide, police launch probe
A police official familiar with the matter said, “The statements of the family will be recorded in a couple of days. They were in a state of shock.”

A 34-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide in the Harni Warasiya area of Vadodara city, said police, adding a probe has been launched into the matter.
The deceased, identified as Ankita Uttekar is the sister of BJP corporator Shweta Uttekar Chauhan, said the police.
According to police officials, the deceased had returned from Mumbai on Monday night with her family after attending a wedding celebration. Police said that her family found the victim’s body after she allegedly died by hanging in her residential home in Sawad area. No suicide note has been recovered, said the police.

“The woman’s body was sent for post-mortem examination on Tuesday. In the primary statement, the family has said that the deceased did not express anything that could have caused her to take the drastic step,” added the police official.
Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) Corporator Shweta Uttekar Chauhan took to social media to express her grief at the loss of her sister.
