Gujarat continued to receive unseasonal rainfall on Sunday and the extended downpour has resulted in a massive damage to crops across the state. Looking at the crop damages, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday said the state government is set to announce a relief package for farmers due to unseasonal rains. According to sources, the compensation package will be announced in a day or two.
CM Patel, in a post on his X account, said, “Ministers of the state have personally visited various affected areas to understand the condition of the farmers. The administration has very swiftly initiated the process of reviewing and surveying the crop damage. I am in constant coordination with ministers and officials in this regard.”
The CM further said, ‘Giving top priority to the interests of the people of the country, the state government will quickly announce a relief package in the coming days to help farmers with this loss’.

Though it is likely to continue to move north-northeastwards and become insignificant by Monday, the IMD has issued a forecast of light-to-moderate rains with thundershowers across Gujarat till Wednesday.
