Time to live for country, not make sacrifices: CM
Under the initiative, earth, collected from various villages of Gujarat in kalash (mettle pots), will be sent to Delhi for a national-level function to be held on October 31 in Modi's presence.

Lauding the objective behind the ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’ campaign, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel heaped praises on Prime Minister Narenda Modi on Friday for giving an opportunity to the people to get to know the lives of those who laid their lives for the freedom of the country and those who sacrificed their lives along the borders. He also asked the people to live for the country while performing our duties and take the country forward.
“Now is not the time to make sacrifices for the country. Now, we have to live for the country; to take the country forward by performing our duties,” he said during a state-level function of the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ initiative at Sabarmati Riverfront. The CM added that ever since Modi has taken the reins of the country, he has done so much because of which “we can feel proud for our country and its leadership”.
“After Modi’s arrival, a number of works have been done because of which we feel proud for our leadership and our country. Whether it is construction of the Ram temple, abrogation of Article 370 or to bring back our people when foreign countries are indulging in war… Operation Ganga, Dost, Kaveri, Ajay… each time, we felt that Narendrabhai has done something which has increased our country’s pride,” he said.
Under the initiative, earth, collected from various villages of Gujarat in kalash (mettle pots), will be sent to Delhi for a national-level function to be held on October 31 in Modi’s presence. Under the campaign, the CM said, 308 kalash will be sent to Delhi by around 800 representatives. The earth collected likewise from across the country will be used in developing Amrit Vatika at the National War Memorial in Delhi.
He also said that under the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign, nearly 30,000 brave-hearts from Gujarat who were martyred during the freedom movement or on the borders were felicitated in the state.
