The speculations about 11 M S University (MSU) Syndicate members meeting state Revenue Minister Anandiben Patel, turned out to be a false alarm.
MSU Syndicate members said the meeting scheduled on Friday with Anandiben has been cancelled and it will be called again to discuss about the standoff between the Syndicate members and Vice-Chancellor Prof Ramesh Goyal.
Prof Ramesh Goyal, who was in Mumbai, said: I had an appointment with Chief Minister Narendra Modi and also with the Education department on Friday. However, that was about the global heritage fund, the appointment was taken long ago. I did not receive any formal official communiqué over this issue. I condemn the fact that Syndicate members are spreading false news in the campus.
Syndicate member Mukund Shah told Newsline,Due to the involvement of unnecessary elements, there has been a problem in the university administration. A number of times the Syndicate meeting has been adjourned. The state government has shown its displeasure as to why the university administration is not following the university handbook. We,therefore, wanted to meet Anandiben. However the meeting has ben postponed. We might meet her soon to discuss the same issue.
