Rod pierces 10-year-old’s jaw in Savli

A 10-year-old boy from Savli town was rushed to a city-based private hospital when a trident-shaped iron rod pierced through his jaw after he fell over the railing of his school compound.

A 10-year-old boy from Savli town was rushed to a city-based private hospital when a trident-shaped iron rod pierced through his jaw after he fell over the railing of his school compound.

The incident took place on Friday evening,when Jairaj Parmar,a Class V student of Gangotri School in Savli was playing with his friends near the school campus after the school hours.

When an autorickshaw — hired by his family — came to pick him,he made a dash towards it.

In a bid to jump over the campus wall,Parmar climbed the railing. While doing so,he slipped and fell on the trident-shaped iron rods of the railings and one of the rods pierced through his jaw.

According to the information gathered,the people around managed to cut the iron rod and rushed the boy to city-based Sangam Hospital.

When reports last came in,the boy was still in the operation theatre. The hospital authorities said it would take a couple of hours more before his condition was known.
