Priest arrested for ‘molesting’ five-yr-old

A priest of a temple in Ahmedabad was arrested Sunday for allegedly molesting a five-year-old girl.

The girls mother lodged an FIR against the priest,identified as Anilkumar Ravishankar Mehta. He allegedly molested the girl a couple of times in last two months,the complainant said. The priest was serving at Khodiyar Mata temple in Vejalpur area.

The Vejalpur police said the girl had been first molested on June 19 when the priest called her to the temple for the pre-evening rituals. The girl and her mother were regular visitors to the temple.

According to police,the priest used to tempt the girl with chocolates and sweets. However,the girl told her mother about the incident recently after which an FIR was lodged at Vejalpur police station.
