The Commissioner of Ahmedabad Police has given special public notices to the residents owning bungalows, offices, shops, godowns, cold storages and industries stating that henceforth they shall produce details of their tenants to the nearby police station.

According to the police, the decision was taken after an intelligence report showed that some houses in residential colonies of Ahmedabad are reportedly being given to the anti-social elements, which is a threat to public security.

They added that the increasing number of leasing activities to such elements is triggering more housebreaks and other crimes in the city. Migrants are using the houses to scan the particular area and later use that as a base to spread terrorist activity.
