Police issue traffic diversions ahead of PM Modi’s Ahmedabad visit

In the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Ahmedabad on Monday, the city police have issued a restriction on vehicle movement.
The PM will address a public meeting at the GMDC Ground near Helmet Circle. According to the notification issued by the Ahmedabad city police commissioner, vehicular movement will be closed around the area from 10 am until the event concludes.
The roads from NFD Circle to Saibaba Crossroads, Gurukul T-junction, Helmet Crossroads, Blind People’s Association (BPA) Crossroads, and Sanjivani Hospital near Vastrapur will be closed for vehicles, according to the notification.
Alternate routes for these roads have been listed out by the police: for Helmet Crossroads and NFD Circle, the road from Judges Bungalow Crossroads, Keshavbaug T-junction, Dada Saheb Na Pagla, BPA Crossroads, Panjrapole Crossroads and Vijay Crossroads have been suggested.
Similarly, commuters moving towards AEC Crossroads can use the roads through Govinddham Gurdwara, Thaltej Crossroads, Hebatpur Crossroads, and Sattadhar Crossroads. From Sai Baba crossroads, the traffic has been diverted through Surdhara Circle, Swami Vivekanand Circe and Sola Crossroads.
On Monday morning, PM Modi is scheduled to interact with beneficiaries of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in Gandhinagar following which he will inaugurate the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet and Expo at Mahatma Mandir.
Later in the day, he will inaugurate the Ahmedabad Metro Rail project from Section 1 Metro Station to GIFT City Metro Station.
