In a scuffle following an accident at Kheridi village under Pavagadh police station in Panchmahals,one person was killed by some people who alleged the victim had caused the accident deliberately. According to the Pavagadh police,the situation in the village remained tense as the villagers went out looking for the killers of the victim,Mohan Magan Baria,a farmer. Sub-Inspector V P Paran,investigating the case,said that Barias tractor had hit one of the accused,Ramesh Baria,which led to the scuffle between the two. According to the victims wife,Latika,the accused,Ramesh Baria,his nephew Ranjit Baria,and neighbour Mukesh Baria,attacked Mohan Baria (45) on Wednesday night with swords and knives,killing him on the spot, said Paran. The police officer said the villagers were agitated after having learnt about Mohan Barias death,as the deceased was popular among them. According to deceaseds wife,the accident was not deliberate as alleged by the accused. But there was a land dispute between Ramesh and Mohan, said Paran. The police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused. They said the accused could be hiding in the woods surrounding the village which is located near the world heritage site of Pavagadh.
