Murder accused stabbed to death, police suspect rivalry

No arrests have been made yet as the police are searching for clues in the case.

The “infamous” Kishanwadi gang war seems to have resurfaced in Vadodara. Late on Thursday night,Kalpesh Raval,an accused in the murder case of BJP worker Kishore Gondhali in February this year, was stabbed to death by unidentified persons near Kishanwadi.

Though the local police have beefed up security in the area to prevent any clashes between rival groups,no arrests have been made yet as the police are searching for clues in the case.

At around 8 pm,Kalpesh, who was out on bail in the Gondhali murder case, was on his way to meet his friends in Kishanwadi when unidentified motorcycle riders interrupted him. Assailants also assaulted Kalpesh with hockey sticks and swords, stabbing him in his chest and back, the police said.

He was rushed to Sayaji Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Kalpesh’s brother Ajay registered an FIR against 13 unknown persons in this connection. Police Inspector of Kishanwadi B M Chaudhary said,“We are still awaiting clues in this case. The investigations are on.”
