Minor among 16 illegal immigrants deported to Bangladesh: Police
The remaining 48 illegal immigrants included 31 men, 13 women and four children. They were detained at Gujarat's second Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) in Ahmedabad.

A TOTAL of 16 illegal immigrants, including a minor, who were residing in Chandola lake area of Ahmedabad, were deported to their home country Bangladesh, said the Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) of Ahmedabad City Police on Wednesday.
Notably, the deported immigrants were among 53 Bangladeshi nationals who were detained by the Crime Branch on October 25 last year for living illegally in Ahmedabad. Of them, five were also involved in two cases — one related to forgery and the second pertaining to trafficking of women from India’s eastern border.
The remaining 48 illegal immigrants included 31 men, 13 women and four children. They were detained at Gujarat’s second Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) in Ahmedabad.
Harsh Sanghavi, Gujarat’s MoS for Home, in a post on X, said: “Ahmedabad Crime Branch Cracks Down on Anti-National Activities! Successfully deported 15 immigrants to Bangladesh. Identified and arrested persons involved in trafficking minor girls for prostitution. Busted a racket producing fake Indian documents for illegal immigrants. Detained 50 illegal immigrants during combing operation. Successfully deported 15 immigrants and 1 minor child. Ongoing legal process for deportation of remaining immigrants.”
An official of the Crime Branch said: “The Crime Branch identified and arrested people involved in trafficking of minor girls for prostitution. On further investigation, a racket, which used to produce fake Indian documents to illegal immigrants, was also busted. Subsequently, during the combing operation, 50 illegal immigrants were detained. Of those, 16 immigrants, including a child, have been successfully deported. As for deportation of others, a legal process is under way.”
