Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath has asked Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) to audit the accounts of AMC to find out alleged misuse of funds. AMC Opposition leader Badruddin Shaikh on Tuesday said against the allocation of Rs 5,100 crore to AMC,Rs 3,200 crore was sanctioned so far and Rs 2,200 crore was misused. The order comes on the basis of findings and recommendations made by a five-member panel of Urban Development Ministry officials led by B P Sridevi who had visited JNNURM project sites.
