VADODARA: A man was arrested for allegedly killing his wife in Dabhoi taluka of the district,the police said on Sunday.
Accused Sanjay Vasava attacked his wife Tinkiben with an axe after she was late in preparing their meal in Sathod village yesterday,they said.
He was accosted by the villagers after his elder daughter narrated the incident to them. A case has been registered against the accused and further investigations are on.

Labourer suffocates to death while cleaning gutter
AHMEDABAD: One labourer died of suffocation,while another fell unconscious when they were cleaning a gutter at Ajay Estate in Dudheshwar on Sunday. Sources said the Fire brigade officials rushed to the spot and both the labourers were taken to the hospital. One of them,Amarbhai,died,while another is still undergoing treatment. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has filed a case against the factory manager,Badri Prasad,under Section 304 IPC.

Cop in Savli suspended for negligence
VADODARA: A sub-inspector from Savli police station was suspended by Superintendent of Police Gagandeep Gambhir on Sunday. The officer was found to be negligent about his duty while investigating a case in Thermax company near Savli. Sources said B N Gariya was not present at the spot when the firing took place.

Dengue patient dies of stroke
AHMEDABAD: A dengue positive patient died at Pariekh Hospital,Vejalpur on Friday. AMC Assistant Entomologist Vijay Kohli said: Jitendra Sishodia died of heart stroke. The patient had dengue. We are yet to probe the case. Around 148 cases of dengue in the city this year,said Kohli.
