Hit-and-run case: Bus vandalised after it kills labourer

A BRTS bus was vandalised in Danilimda area of Ahmedabad late on Saturday night after it ran over a labourer.

The accident took place after 11 pm when the victim,Guru Bachchan,a labourer working for complainant Devendra Shah,was walking on a road. The bus reportedly hit him from behind,killing him on the spot. He was rushed to the civil hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The police said that the bus driver couldn’t be identified and he is on the run. Later,the police alerted the BRTS to identify the driver of the bus (GJ1 CX 2277).

Meanwhile,a mob vandalised the bus parked near a lane. The police have registered a case of accident against the unidentified bus driver; no case of rioting was registered.
