The Met Department said there will be no change of situation for the next 24 hours, but the temperature is likely to decrease gradually in the next two to three days.

On Sunday,Idar recorded the maximum temperature in the state at 47.2 degree Celcius. Deesa and Ahmedabad followed closely with maximum temperature of 46.1 and 44.5 degrees Celcius respectively. Temperature in Gandhinagar and Vadodara hovered around 43.4 degree Celcius.

Saurashtra and south Gujarat remained relatively cooler.

Ahmedabad Met officials said that north Gujarat has not yet come under monsoon, which has already reached Mumbai and is likely to hit Saurashtra in another couple of days.

“It is gradually expected to move towards north Gujarat. The change will subsequently lower the temperature in the region and may result in thundershowers,” said a Met official.
