Gujarat Police arrest Narmada AAP district president’s brother in prohibition case

The Narmada police in Gujarat arrested the brother of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Narmada district unit president on Saturday in a prohibition case after he was allegedly found in possession of Indian-made foreign liquor in the Kunvarpada village in Rajpipla.

The accused, Virbhadrasinh Vasava, a resident of Kunvarpada in Nandod taluka of the district, was arrested with 19 cans and bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor worth Rs 2,752, including beer, whiskey and vodka. The police said that the liquor was found in the possession of the accused at a hotel in the area, where a raid had been carried out on Friday night.

The Narmada district police said that a tip-off had been received that the accused was “selling alcohol” near Vrindavan hotel in Kunvarpada. The accused is the brother of AAP Narmada district unit president Niranjan Vasava, who is also a close aide of Dediapada AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava. The accused has previously also been booked in another prohibition case.
