Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on July 27 and 28 during which he is scheduled to inaugurate a number of developmental projects in Saurashtra, including a greenfield airport in Rajkot and an event – Semicon India 2023 – focusing on the semiconductors sector, in Gandhinagar.
On July 27, the PM will inaugurate various projects worth Rs 234 crore of the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC). The projects include a water treatment plant, a sewerage treatment plant, a modern library, a health centre and a multi-level flyover bridge, which will benefit an estimated 2 lakh people while saving their time, fuel and effort, state government spokesperson Rushikesh Patel said.
On the same day, Modi will inaugurate the newly built Rajkot International Airport, a greenfield project, built at Rs 1,405 crore in an area covering 23,000 square metres, can handle 1,280 passengers per hour.
He will also inaugurate Package 8 and Package 9 of Link-III of SAUNI (Saurashtra Narmada Avataran Irrigation) Yojana that has been completed at a cost of Rs 393.67 crore to provide Narmada water to the Saurashtra region for irrigation and drinking purposes. It is estimated to benefit nearly one lakh people.
On July 28, the PM will be in Gandhinagar to inaugurate Semicon India 2023 and investment opportunities related to the sector in India.
On the same day, Modi is also likely to attend a lunch with the MPs and MLAs of Gujarat BJP that will be hosted by Kesaridevsinh Jhala, Babu Desai and Union Minister S Jaishankar — all who were recently elected to the Rajya Sabha from the state.
