Gujarat: Nomination of candidates to begin today

For Gujarat that will see all its 26 Lok Sabha seats go to poll on May 7, the nominations of candidates will begin Friday.

The Election Commission of India announced Thursday that it will be issuing the gazette notification for commencement of the nominations of candidates contesting the Lok Sabha polls in the third phase. Ninety five seats across 12 states, including Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat and the Union Territories of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, and Jammu & Kashmir will go to polls on May 7.

The last date for candidates to file their nomination is April 19. Scrutiny of the nomination forms will be undertaken on April 20.
