Around 10 days after it was sealed a day after inauguration, a pooja was performed at the doorsteps of Janseva Multispeciality Hospital in Bamroli area of Surat on Tuesday. The rituals were performed by the joint owners of the hospital — Dr B R Shukla, Dr R K Dubey and Dr D P Mishra. The hospital was sealed by the fire department of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) on November 18, allegedly for not adhering to fire safety norms. Notably, this is not the only time the owners have run into trouble. A few months ago, Surat police had booked Shukla and Dubey for carrying out medical practices without valid degrees. Mishra, on the other hand, was booked in three cases under the Prohibition Act. All three are currently out on bail. The Chief District Health Officer of Surat has also started a probe to check the validity of the medical degrees of the three hospital owners.
