Gujarat confidential: Time Constraints
In his speech before the voting, senior minister Balvantsinh Rajput targeted the Opposition saying two senior opposition leaders participated in the discussion, but none of them spoke on important departments of industries, and labour and employment

The budgetary demands of three departments – Industries & Mines, Labour, Skill Development & Employment, and Revenue — were discussed and passed by the Gujarat Assembly with a majority vote as the Opposition opposed the demands.
In his speech before the voting, senior minister Balvantsinh Rajput targeted the Opposition saying two senior opposition leaders participated in the discussion, but none of them spoke on important departments of industries, and labour and employment. Had the opposition leaders spoken about the two departments, the government would have got some suggestions from them, said a sarcastic Rajput.
The time to participate in such discussions in the House is being provided on a prorata basis and since the Opposition number is historically low in the current Assembly, they get a very short duration to speak. Before Rajput, Opposition MLA Arjun Modhwadia, in his speech during the discussion, had mainly spoken on the revenue department. Modhwadia had indicated that he wanted to speak about other departments, but did not have enough time.
Global Model
The Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) in Gandhinagar has turned out to be one of the most talked about centres under the state education department. Following the visit of World Bank President Ajay Banga who visited the Kendra in 2023, another delegation of nearly 60 led by global director education from the World Bank Luis Benveniste will be visiting it Monday.
As the entire primary and secondary education department is preparing for the delegation visiting Gujarat under ‘India Summit on Education Knowledge Exchange’, a live demonstration of VSK and virtual interactions with the beneficiaries is also a part of the schedule. Other than VSK, the team will also be visiting two government schools in Gandhinagar’s vicinity — the school of excellence and residential school for girls.
