Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel At Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s sneh-milan lunch for mediapersons on the occasion of Gujarati new year, on Wednesday, there was a wholesome change this time with a vast spread of food items including pizza, ravioli and an entire counter was dedicated to local millets. Though there was a Gujarati corner, too, with winter delicacies such as undhiyu and lilva kachori, interesting and palatable millet items such as ragi pancake and dhokla, pearl millet, tofu and water chestnut sauce in coconut milk, jowar rotis and oats vegetable khichdi were consciously and thoughfully included in the menu. In rural and tribal areas of Gujarat, these millets are still used as the staple food.
