Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla on Friday said that it is a “matter of time” before former MP chief minister Kamal Nath also decides to switch over to the BJP. Shukla was responding to a query posed to him at the BJP’s Yuva Sammelan in Chhota Udepur district. “(Kamal Nath joining the BJP) is a matter of time. Let’s see.
As everyone else is switching over, it is very likely that he will also eventually decide to join… The agenda has been a ‘Congress Mukt Bharat’ and we are almost there, as there is no one staying back in the Congress these days,” Shukla said. He added that BJP workers had “begun their hard work on the ground” to ensure the “crucial” win for Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
To The BJP
Former Dediapada MLA and Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) chief, Mahesh Vasava, on Friday met BJP state president C R Paatil in Surat along with his supporters, hinting that he will shortly join the party formally.
Vasava, who had withdrawn his nomination from his father Chhotubhai Vasava’s Jhagadia constituency in the 2022 Gujarat polls, has been missing from the public eye since the fallout with his father and stepbrother Dilip, who went on to form the Bharat Adivasi Party. Mahesh’s supporters in BTP are also expected to join the BJP next week.
He was earlier expected to join the BJP in January but his formal induction had been delayed due to “ongoing talks”, sources said.
