The state Information Department, which declares awards for Gujarati films every year, is actively mulling the idea to open the award ceremony to the public. The active consideration has come following the award ceremony that was held in Gandhinagar Tuesday, which was open only to those from the fraternity, after senior film and theater actor Siddharth Randeria made a suggestion to the state government that such functions should be open to the public as well. A senior officer from the information department said it was a "nice" suggestion and they have already started thinking in the direction so that the next award function is done in a grand manner for a larger audience. Both Vaghela and the party termed it a "courtesy meeting". Notably, in recent times, this is the second such meeting between the two leaders. In March, Yadav had come on a two-day visit of Gujarat to attend a wedding in Vaghela's family.
