Gujarat Confidential: Awareness drive with a twist

While most police awareness sessions comprise seminars and school lectures, a Gujarat-cadre IPS officer decided to put a twist on it with a case pertaining to a man who had impersonated him on Facebook. In a video put out by the Banaskantha Police’s X handle, IPS Akshay Raj, the outgoing SP who has recently been transferred to Bharuch, is seen standing next to the accused who had allegedly made 7-8 fake profiles of the officer on Facebook. In the video, the SP can be heard explaining how the accused had attempted to target his friends and acquaintances using a well-known fraud in which people are scammed by way of seeking emergency financial help.
