GSRTC to run 2,200 special buses from Surat during festive season

The Surat division of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) will run 2,200 special buses, 400 more than 1,800 last year, to Saurashtra, Panchmahal and North Gujarat from October 26 to 30 to cater to people travelling during the festive season. These buses will run in addition to the regular bus services.
Sources said that as part of “Bus Apne Dware” (bus at your door step) scheme, GSRTC’s Surat division has, till date, received over 200 advance group bookings from passengers who have reserved an entire bus. These buses will carry them from a spot at their residential society and drop them to their respective destinations, said officials. As many as 90 such group bookings have been carried out through the website as well. These group bookings are expected to help over 15,000 passengers.
The buses from Surat to Saurashtra (Amreli, Savarkundla, Mahuva, Bhavnagar, Gariyadhar, Rajkot, Junagadh and Una) will depart from Swami Atmanand Saraswati Vidya Complex (Dharuka College), Varachha Road.
Similarly, buses from Surat to Panchmahal (Dahod, Jhalod, Godhra) will depart from the compound opposite Surat Central Bus Station near Surat Railway Station and from Adajan Bus Depot. The regional officers of GSRTC has appealed to the people to take maximum advantage of GSRTC bus services.

In 2023, we generated a total revenue of Rs 3.50 crore in the five-day Diwali festival period. The travel fare of the GSRTC bus service is far less as compared to the private players; we appeal to the people to take maximum advantage of it.”
