To boost private investment in the state by making the dealing with entrepreneurs transparent, the state government has launched a blog. The blog www.udyogbandhu.blogspot.com will give regular update about new avenues of investment in the state and would also form discussion forums so that entrepreneurs can freely voice their opinion and suggestions on development issues and posts on the blog. The blog, which became online on March 21,is being managed by Udyog Bandhu an agency of UP government that coordinates between private investors and the government. Senior officials of Udyog Bandhu have been given responsibility to write, manage and moderate the blog on rotation basis every month. To start with, the first post selected for the blog Formula one race in Uttar Pradesh soon gives details about the first Indian Formula one race to be organised in UP this year. The topic of Formula One racing was chosen as the first post because the state government plans to popularise the fact that the Inaugural Indian Grand Prix will take place in Uttar Pradesh. The blog states that 5.14 kilometre-long track along Yamuna Expressway with 16 turns and about 1.10 lakh seating capacity is scheduled to host inaugural Indian Grand Prix on October 30,2011. We were thinking about developing a platform, which can make interaction with the entrepreneurs easier. Since web portal has its own limitations,it was decided to experiment with the blog, said V N Garg,Principal Secretary,Infrastructure and Industrial Development department and also executive director of Udyog Bandhu. While anyone can post his or her comments on the blog at present, the government is planning to filter the users for taking part in the discussions in the blog.
