A four-year-old girl died of swine flu at SMIMER Hospital in Surat city on Wednesday. With this,the H1N1 toll in Surat has reached 25.

A four-year-old girl died of swine flu at SMIMER Hospital in Surat city on Wednesday. With this,the H1N1 toll in Surat has reached 25. The deceased was identified as Muskan Gopal Singh,a resident of Bhaktinagar in Pandesara. She was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday night. Her blood samples were sent to the New Civil Hospital for examination today,and by the time the report came,which confirmed she had contracted the H1N1 virus,she was dead. Later,her parents were administered tamiflu as a precautionary measure. District Health Officer Dr R K Panchal said,“We have come to know that she was suffering from pneumonia for the last few days. A private doctor had been treating her. When there was no improvement in her condition,she was taken to SMIMER Hospital.”
