‘Food For Thought Fest’: International food fest from November 13-16

Chefs from India and abroad will give live demos, Spain & the Netherlands among countries that will take part

With participation from countries such as Spain, the Netherlands and Nepal, this year’s International Food Festival -‘Food for Thought Fest 2’025 will not just be a food festival but a gathering of thoughts and tastes.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), in association with SAAG (South Asian Association for Gastronomy), has organised the event from November 13 to 16 at the Sabarmati Riverfront Event Centre in such a way that those fond of food and entertainment get equal enjoyment, a statement said.

Three unique pavilions will also be set in this International Food Festival. In the Luxury Pavilion, prestigious hotels will serve their special dishes. In the Spiritual Pavilion, there will be a spiritual experience with the “Bhog Prasad” offered at the Jagannath Temple in Puri. While in the Coffee Pavilion, educational and entertaining information will be exchanged for coffee lovers with live coffee, roasting, brewing and workshops.

This International Food Festival will offer a platform for discussions, recipes and exchange of ideas on culinary arts. In addition to the presence of well-known celebrities and experts in this food festival, citizens will get to discover new dishes with master chefs and enjoy informative entertainment. Well-known food critic and writer Rashmi Uday Singh, renowned chefs Abhijit Saha and Gautam Maharshi, Nepalese writer Rohini Rana, Padma Shri Dr Pushpesh Pant will be present in this international food festival.

“Live cooking workshops and food shows by master chefs from South Asia will also be organised in this food festival. Food courts have been prepared on two themes, ‘A Taste of Luxury’ and ‘The Regional Flavour’. Luxury hotels will serve their best dishes, while in the Regional Flavour, various regional flavorus of food will be presented in a street food style,” an AMC official said, adding that ‘Food for Thought Fest’ is a unique platform that highlights the diverse culinary traditions and cultural heritage of South Asia. This festival will not only be a celebration of taste, but also of ideas, culture and connectivity.

The festival will also become a platform of inspiration for students and professionals such as hotel management students, food bloggers and entrepreneurs. Apart from this, they will also be able to learn new techniques and trends along with the food traditions of South Asia.
