Finally,Rajkot to get additional water

Rajkot will finally get the additional 15 million litres per day (MLD) water from Wednesday onwards as the Dhanki-Ratanpar pipeline starts pumping Narmada water to the city.

Rajkot will finally get the additional 15 million litres per day (MLD) water from Wednesday onwards as the Dhanki-Ratanpar pipeline starts pumping Narmada water to the city. Currently, the city gets 150 MLD water through the Dhanki-Maliya pipeline of Narmada project. However, according to the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC),this amount is insufficient as the civic body supplies water for 20 minutes every alternate day and many parts have complained of low-pressure supply. “The work of laying the pipeline of Dhank-Ratanpar project has been completed and the testing of pumping water in it is going on for the last two days. Rajkot will start getting additional water from this pipeline from Wednesday evening onwards,” N H Patel, chief engineer of GWSSB,Rajkot zone, said.
