An executive magistrate or mamlatdar was arrested from Gujarat High Court after he was caught drunk in the middle of court proceedings. He has handed over to the nearest police station where an FIR has been lodged against him under the provisions of anti-prohibition law. Drinking liquor is anyway prohibited in Gujarat. Sola police officials who registered an FIR against the executive magistrate SS Parvi, Dahod taluka, said that the officer had come to attend a case in the court of justice RM Chhaya. During the hearing the government lawyer complained that Parvi was drunk as he slurred when asked about the case details. "We were called by the security guards of the high court. We were told that a government lawyer complained the court that Parvi was drunk. We have conducted a medical test and based on the report we have lodged an FIR against him,” said Sola police inspector BV Gohil. Gohil said that Parvi had come from Dahod district to appear in a court case related. Parvi was kept in the police custody for further investigation. Gohil said that a probe has been started to find out from where did Parvi get the liquor and the place where he drank. In Gujarat drinking alcohol is prohibited.
