Ex-Cong MLA Vasoya demands compensation from CM relief fund for kin of Tazia victims
On July 29, two youths were killed and 19 others were injured after a Tazia came into contact with an overhead live electric wire. The victims were part of the Tazia procession that was taken out in the town to mark Muharram.

Former Dhoraji MLA Lalit Vasoya Monday wrote to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel requesting the government to compensate the victims who were electrocuted during a Tazia procession in Dhoraji town last week.
“Yes, I have written a letter requesting the Chief Minister to support the families of the victims through the CM relief fund,” the former Congress MLA told The Indian Express. Currently, Dhoraji seat is being represented by BJP MLA Dr Mahendrabhai Padhalia who had defeated Vasoya in the 2022 Gujarat Assembly elections.
