Dummy writers’ scam: Kotak gets bail

The Ahmedabad City Sessions Court on Tuesday granted anticipatory bail to city-based builder,Pravin Kotak,in connection with the Dummy Writers Scam. Sessions Judge V M Chaudhary gave the judgement. Kotak is father of Harsh,one of the two students who was found using a dummy writer in the Class XII board in 2008. The other student was Komal Patel,daughter of another builder,Sanjay Patel. Kotak was charged of forgery,which is being investigated by the Ahmedabad City DCB. Kotak’s lawyer,Sanjay Thakkar argued that the charges of forgery are baseless. At the most,he can be accused of making a false statement which is bailable offence.
