Congress demands compensation, job to deceased assistant BLO’s family

Congress city unit president Rutvij Joshi said, “We have been petitioning to the District Collector about the workload on teachers and other BLOs, but in vain. Now, a woman has lost her life due to the SIR work pressure. The government must give the family compensation as well as an alternative employment.”

Joshi said that the Congress has urged the administration to relieve people with known ailments as well as those working in educational institutions to ensure that the stress of the additional work of SIR does not “result in another tragedy”.

“We have been demanding to extend the deadline by three months so that the work can be done at a comfortable pace. The government has given one teacher three or four villages at one time,” he alleged.
Joshi also questioned the activity stating that there is an apprehension that names of several voters will be deleted from the list ahead of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation polls. “This activity, right ahead of the corporation polls, is a well-planned conspiracy to delete several voters to benefit the BJP,” he alleged.
