Complaint against Congress MLA dismissed

A complaint against Congress MLA Shailesh Parmar,alleging that he provided a fake caste certificate when contesting election from a constituency reserved for Scheduled Castes,was dismissed by a court on Monday. This was stated in an official press release from the party. Parmar won Assembly election from Sher Kotda SC constituency of the city in 2007,and from Danilimbda SC constituency last year. A former Congress member,Ratna Vora,had lodged a complaint with the Ahmedabad Metropolitan Court against Parmar in 2010,alleging that he had procured the certificate on the basis of false documents. According to Vora,Parmar belonged to Marwadi-Mochi community. However,he had procured a certificate to claim that he was a Hindu Vankar.
