CM nod to build 2 bridges, repair three others in Rajkot

In total, the CM has given an in-principle approval to projects worth Rs 247.92 crore for urban areas of the state’s Saurashtra region, including Rs 185 crore for Rajkot city.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday gave an in-principle approval to construct two new bridges and widen three others in Rajkot at a cost of Rs185 crore.

“Under the flyover bridge component of the Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, the Chief Minister has given an in-principle approval to the Municipal Corporation’s proposal to construct four flyovers in Rajkot. Accordingly, a total of Rs 185.79 crore has been approved for Phase II work of the underbridge and flyover bridge at Kataria Chowk in Rajkot. This includes the construction of the Wokla bridge along the road from Raiya Village to Smart City DP Road as well as a high-level bridge on the road connecting Kotharia and Lapasari over Khokhal Dal River, and widening work of three bridges along the road from Kataria Chowkdi to Smart City on the 150-foot ring road,” read an official release by the state government.

In total, the CM has given an in-principle approval to projects worth Rs 247.92 crore for urban areas of the state’s Saurashtra region, including Rs 185 crore for Rajkot city.

Other projects include the construction of a town hall in Sihor, Bhavnagar, at the cost of Rs 8.31 crore, a sports complex in Gondal town at the cost of Rs 6.92 crore, a cement-concrete road in Maliya town of Morbi district at the cost of Rs 2 crore, and Rs 45.69 crore for Town Planning Scheme No. 31 — covering nine villages of the Bhavnagar Area Development Authority, and the underground sewerage scheme for the Varatej village-level area, the release added.
