Child falls off building,dies

A one-and-half year old child died after falling from the fourth storey of a residential complex in the citys Vasna road area.

As per an FIR filed with the JP Road police station,the boy was playing alone in his house in Dwarkesh Residency when he fell off the balcony Wednesday night and sustained severe injuries.

He was rushed to a private hospital,but died during treatment on Friday. A case of accidental death was filed and the body was sent to the SSG Hospital for post-mortem.

Bharuch students bag karate medals in Sri Lanka

Two Bharuch students bagged medals in an international karate championship held in Sri Lanka from May 18-19.

Shaurya Singh,who played for 9-year category,won a gold medal,and Debojyoti Pal won in the 10-year category. In the tournament,six teams from different Indian states participated in different categories. Around 1,400 participants from India,Nepal,Sri Lanka,Afghanistan,Iran,UAE and Bangladesh,among other countries,took part in the championship.
