The CBI on Tuesday told a special court it has no objection to suspended deputy SP N K Amin,an accused in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case, becoming an approver provided he makes true and full disclosures in the case.
The CBI counsel told this to the special CBI court of additional chief judicial magistrate in response to Amins application filed last month for becoming an approver and seeking pardon in the case.
Amin had said he wanted to provide certain information related to the case to CBI. Following Amins application, the court had asked CBI to make its stand clear on the issue.
CBI counsel Ejaz Khan today filed a reply. (Amins) application be allowed on strict condition of his making full and true disclosure of the circumstances within his knowledge relating to the offence and to every other person concerned, whether as principal or abettor…, CBI said in its reply.
On Tuesday,Amin also filed another application saying he was ready to get his statement recorded under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). The court has adjourned the hearing on the application till August 13 when the magistrate is likely to give Amin five days to think over his application as per the legal provisions.
Eight accused in the fake encounter case, including suspended IPS officers D G Vanzara,Dinesh M N and Rajkumar Pandian, have objected to Amin turning an approver. The court also asked the eight accused to file affidavits detailing their objections by August 13.
