Car catches fire in Vadodara’s Manjalpur, driver escapes

Arround 1 pm on Friday, as Rishabh Vora arrived near a commercial complex he witnessed sparks in his car, police officials said. Before he could retrieve his mobile phone and valuables from the car, the bonnet of the car went up in flames.

A driver escaped unhurt as he jumped out of his car in the nick of time before it caught fire on Friday afternoon near in Manjalpur in Vadodara.

Police registered a case of accidental fire and a probe is underway.

Arround 1 pm on Friday, as Rishabh Vora arrived near a commercial complex he witnessed sparks in his car, police officials said. Before he could retrieve his mobile phone and valuables from the car, the bonnet of the car went up in flames.

Vora jumped out of the car even as locals rushed to douse the flames. Even before the fire department arrived at the spot, local residents had brought the fire under control.

Amit Chaudhary, Station Fire Officer, Vadodara, said, “The cause of the fire is a matter of probe by the Forensic Science Laboratory and a detailed report will be submitted later…”
