Bypolls voting time extended by two hrs

Voting duration for bypolls scheduled on June 2 has been extended by two hours in view of scoring heat in the state.

Instead of 8 am,the voting will now begin at 7 am and close at 6 pm instead of 5 pm.

“Due to prevailing heat conditions in the state,voting timings have been extended,” said Anital Karwal,State Election Commissioner.

Four Assembly and two Lok Sabha seats to go for bypolls on June 2. These seats include Jetpur,Dhoraji,Limbdi and Morva Hadaf Assembly and Porbandar and Banaskantha Lok Sabha seats.

For the same,notification will be released by state election commission on May 8 and from the same day to May 15 nomination forms can be filed.

Nomination form scrutiny will be held on May 16 and forms can be withdrew by May 18. Polling will be held on June 2 and counting on June 5.
