Briefly Gujarat: Modi to lead yatra from Unai today

Chief Minister Narednra Modi will lead the Vivekanand Yuva Vikas Yatra from Unai in south Gujarat on Thursday and Friday after which it will move in areas of central Gujarat on Saturday.

Ahmedabad: Chief Minister Narednra Modi will lead the Vivekanand Yuva Vikas Yatra from Unai in south Gujarat on Thursday and Friday after which it will move in areas of central Gujarat on Saturday. The yatra will enter north Gujarat on Sunday and move in Ambaji area on Sunday,a BJP release said on Wednesday. BJP’s Scheduled Caste Morcha national president Faggan Singh Kulaste will also join the yatra along with Orissa BJP president Joal Oram as well as national vice-president Purshattam Rupala on the first day. The yatra will start from Karjan on September 15 and end at Khambhat.

GU syndicate polls on September 30

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat University syndicate elections will be held on September 30. This was confirmed by a senior university official on Wednesday. A senior university official said 115 senate members would cast their votes to elect 13 syndicate members.

A situation of confrontation had arisen between university authorities and syndicate members led by Congress leader Narendra Amin over the elections after former V-C Parimal Trivedi demitted office on June 26.
