Two-day ‘Brihad Karobari’ (extended executive meeting) of the state BJP began at the temple of Swaminarayan sect Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Sanstha (BAPS) in Sarangpur of Botad district on Thursday. Nearly 1,300 party workers are taking part in the meeting — presided over by Gujarat BJP president and Union Minister of Water Resources C R Paatil — which started with the registration of participants, followed by an introductory session, dinner and a cultural event, a party official said. Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, is expected to attend the key event of the meeting on Friday. The meeting will have five sessions in total, and the workers will be provided guidance on various subjects. In the meeting, among other things, a congratulatory resolution will be passed since a BJP-led government has been formed for the third consecutive time at the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
