Ayare is the local corporator of the Gotri area where the ground-breaking ceremony for a Vadodara Municipal Corporation’s (VMC) low-income group (LIG) housing scheme was held on Monday under Mukhyamantri Gruh Awas Yojana, in which ruckus and stone-pelting by protesting locals injured Deputy Mayor Sunita Shukla.
Patel was also present in the programme. The police arrested eight on the basis of their names in the FIR as well as circumstantial evidences, they said. The arrested were identified as Chandesh Thakkar, Jayendra Solanki, Tushar Panchal, Dharmesh Thakor, Manoj Valand, Mitesh Thakor, Mahesh Barot, and Suresh Parmar.
“We have arrested them based on their names in the FIR and circumstantial evidences. Ayare, who is also the local corporator, remains untraceable but we will track him down soon,” said ACP M B Joshi.
