The Gujarat High Court Thursday did not provide interim relief to an aspirant seeking to appear for the IIT JEE Advanced exams to be held on June 4 after the National Testing Agency reiterated there was no technical glitch in recording the student’s Mains result that showed he had selected ‘no response’ to the 75 questions he attempted.

After a lengthy hearing Thursday, the court did not pass any order and kept the matter for June 8, which effectively means the student cannot appear for the Advanced exams in the absence of the court’s specific direction in this regard.

The student, with a credible academic track record – as noted by the court – appeared for the JEE Mains examination this year. As per the response sheet uploaded on the official website that he downloaded around 7.03 am on April 20, he had attempted all the 75 questions. However, when the student downloaded the response sheet a second time around 1.15 pm the same day, it indicated that the student had not attempted a single question.
