Presently, Paatil, along with hundreds of BJP workers and elected corporators of Surat Municipal Corporation, is campaigning in BiharUnion Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil on Thursday virtually addressed the people from Bihar who are currently stationed in Surat, and appealed to them to call their family members, friends, relatives and acquaintances to vote for NDA “for the development of Bihar” in the upcoming state Assembly polls. A large number of people from Bihar, who chose not to travel to their native place for Chhath Puja, attended the virtual address at a private farmhouse in Amroli organised by Olpad BJP MLA Mukesh Patel. Choryasi MLA Sandeep Desai was also in attendance.
Presently, Patil, along with hundreds of BJP workers and elected corporators of Surat Municipal Corporation, is campaigning in Bihar. Patil conducted his virtual address from Begusarai.
Patil said, “Gujarat is a model state in the country where one gets work (job) and a place to live. Earlier, it was said that in Mumbai, one can get a job but no place to stay. Today lakhs of people from Bihar who had come to Surat for bread and butter are satisfied with the lifestyle they live in Surat city.”
He further added, “Due to the ‘Jungle Raj’ in Bihar, you people have to forcefully leave your family, relatives, friends and migrate to Gujarat, West Bengal and Maharashtra. The young generation who migrated proved their efficiency by working in the industrial units.”
Patil said, “Thousands of people from Surat had come to Bihar this year to celebrate Chhath Puja with their family members and relatives in 44 trains. There are lakhs of people who are still in Surat, so I wanted to request them to use the mobile technology and call or SMS your family, relatives and friends in Bihar daily and pressure and mentally prepare them to vote for the NDA candidate in the upcoming assembly elections. Each person should call 300 to 400 contact list numbers and also SMS them to vote for the development of Bihar. Today Bihar needs your support for the development.”
He further added, “In Bihar, elections are fought based on casteism. Voting according to caste can lead to loss. In Bihar, if a man wants to marry off his daughter, he looks for a groom from his own caste, which is necessary. However, during elections, one must set casteism aside and consider who will come forward to work for the state’s development. The people of Bihar staying in Surat do not wish for the migration of youths from Bihar to Gujarat.”
Patil also highlighted the development of Bihar over the last decade under the double-engine government. He said, “The metro rail network is underway in Surat, Gujarat, while here in Patna, it has already started operating. Way back, the Patna airport was small, and now it has grown significantly. In the 2015 election campaign, during my tour in Bihar, the local BJP team did not allow us to travel at night in certain areas due to Naxalite activities. Today, there are no Naxalite activities, and we easily roam late at night. All this happened due to the double-engine government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and PM Narendra Modi.”
Similar virtual meetings are scheduled for 8pm on Saturday at the Surat
Municipal Corporation community hall in Pandesara. It will be organised by Majura BJP MLA and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and Choryasi MLA Sandeep Desai.
This is the second time Patil has been assigned the task of campaigning for BJP and NDA candidates in Bihar.
Previously, he had campaigned in the state during the 2015 Assembly polls. He is currently co-incharge of Bihar’s state Assembly. Sources say Patil has been given responsibility for 78 Assembly seats.
