69-year-old man dies as fire breaks out in Vadodara flat

A 69-year-old man was killed when fire broke out inside a flat in the Middle Income Group (MIG) colony in Ellora Park on Thursday, police said.

The incident took place on Thursday morning when a fire broke out in a second-floor flat when the man was sleeping in his room. Fire officers of Vadiwadi police station rushed to the spot on receiving a call and brought the fire under control. However, Ravindra Kumar had died by then. He was alone at home at the time, said police.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, B Division, RD Kava said, “We have registered a case of accidental death and the body has been sent for autopsy. More details will be available following the post mortem.”
