69-year-old man dies as fire breaks out in Vadodara flat

The incident took place on Thursday morning when a fire broke out in a second-floor flat when the man was sleeping in his room. Fire officers of Vadiwadi police station rushed to the spot on receiving a call and brought the fire under control. However, Ravindra Kumar had died by then. He was alone at home at the time, said police.

Police officials who visited the spot said that the deceased reportedly suffered from mobility issues and could not escape as he was asleep when the blaze broke out.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, B Division, RD Kava said, “We have registered a case of accidental death and the body has been sent for autopsy. More details will be available following the post mortem.”
